Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is designed to raise awareness about the importance of reading and to inspire Florida's students and families to make reading part of their daily routines.
This year, the Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! theme is Launch Into Literacy, Blast Off Into New Worlds! With this theme in mind, FL Department of Education is encouraging all schools to participate in reading books with a variety of settings to support the New Worlds Reading Initiative program released this fall. The New Worlds Reading Initiative provides high-quality, free books to K-5 students below grade level on a monthly basis to instill a love of reading. Click here for more information.
